Give Me Astoria, accepted a letter of recognition for Celebrate Astoria Day, from Governor Andrew Cuomo, and a proclamation recognizing the annual event, both presented by Councilmember Costa Constantinides. The event was hosted by the Law Offices of Sacco and Fillas, located at 31-19 Newtown Ave. in Astoria.
The proclamation recognized that Sept. 28, 2015 will be known as Celebrate Astoria Day, which will serve as an annual festival, during which area residents will engage in fun activities and socialize with one another. Local performers will be invited to entertain. The event will promote the sense of community that Astoria is so well known for. Further, it will serve to help local businesses, vendors and nonprofits stimulate their businesses and foster their relationships with residents.
